Participant Reports

The analysis presented in these reports is based upon data extracted from the EMWPREP Monitoring & Evaluation Database. The analyses are based on data collected on participants in activities which have taken place during specific academic years (and previous years, where appropriate for comparative purposes). Only those activities and participants that were stored on the database are included in the analyses.

 

2015-16

 

2014-15

  • 34,219 participants were recorded as having participated in 495 Nottingham Trent University funded activities in 2014/15.
  • A total of 4,800 participants have been recorded on the Monitoring & Evaluation Database and provide the focus for this report.
  • Around 36.8% of participants had taken part in more than one activity (figure 1).
  • In 2014/15, 64.7% of participants were from the 40% most deprived areas based on IMD 2010.
  • Around 57.4% of participants were from NS-SEC 4-8.
  • 78.3% of participants were from quintiles 1 and 2 based on qYPR.
  • Around 37.7% of 2014/15 participants were male.
  • 72.5% of participants’ parents/carers had had no experience of higher education.
  • 33.2% of participants were eligible for Free School Meals.
  • 81.6% of participants met the full combination targeting measure.

  • 7,737 participants were recorded as having participated in 166 Bishop Grosseteste University funded activities in 2014/15.
  • A total of 1,703 participants have been recorded on the Monitoring & Evaluation Database and provide the focus for this report.
  • Around 86.1% of participants had taken part in more than one activity.
  • In 2014/15, 33.9% of participants were from the 40% most deprived areas based on IMD 2010.

2013-2014

  • 3,175 participants were recorded as having participated in 88 University of Nottingham funded activities in 2013/14.
  • A total of 2,335 participants have been recorded on the Monitoring & Evaluation Database and provide the focus for this report.
  • Around 32.7% of participants had taken part in more than one activity.
  • In 2013/14, 47.5% of participants were from the 40% most deprived areas based on IMD 2010.
  • Around 46.4% of participants were from NS-SEC 4-8.
  • 53.9% and 61.1% of participants were from quintiles 1 and 2 based on qYPR and qAHE respectively.
  • Around 32.3% of 2013/14 participants were male.
  • 66.3% of participants’ parents had had no experience of higher education.

Key findings:

  • 54,130 participants were recorded as having participated in 788 Nottingham Trent University funded activities in 2013/14.
  • A total of 4,650 participants have been recorded on the Monitoring & Evaluation Database and provide the focus for this report .
  • Around 40.2% of participants had taken part in more than one activity.
  • In 2013/14, 61.2% of participants were from the 40% most deprived areas based on IMD 2010.

Key findings:

  • 4,264 participants were recorded as having participated in 138 Loughborough funded activities in 2013/14.

  • Around 22.9% of participants had taken part in more than one activity.
  • In 2013/14, 45.6% of participants were from the 40% most deprived areas based on IMD 2010.

  • 5,268 participants were recorded as having participated in 57 De Montfort University funded activities in 2012/13.
  • A total of 895 participants have been recorded on the Monitoring & Evaluation Database and provide the focus for this report.
  • Around 19.6% of participants had taken part in more than one activity.
  • In 2012/13, 63.3% of participants were from the 40% most deprived areas based on IMD 2010.
  • Around 58.4% of participants were from NS-SEC 4-8.
  • 49.9% and 58.9% of participants were from quintiles 1 and 2 based on qYPR and qAHE respectively.
  • Around 44.5% of 2012/13 participants were male.
  • 69.1% of participants’ parents had no experience of higher education.

Key findings:

  • 10,214 participants were recorded as having participated in 35 University of Nottingham funded activities in 2012/13.
  • A total of 1,312 participants have been recorded on the Monitoring & Evaluation Database and provide the focus for this report.
  • Around 16.9% of participants had taken part in more than one activity.
  • In 2012/13, 45.3% of participants were from the 40% most deprived areas based on IMD 2010.

2011-2012

Key findings:

  • 3,287 participants were recorded as having participated in 63 De Montfort University funded activities in 2011/12.
  • A total of 502 participants have been recorded on the Monitoring & Evaluation Database and provide the focus for this report.
  • Around 14% of participants had taken part in more than one activity.
  • In 2011/12, 64.7% of participants were from the 40% most deprived areas based on IMD 2010, compared to 62.4% in 2010/11.
  • Around 52.8% of participants were from NS-SEC 4-8 which is around one percentage points lower than in 2010/11 (54.2%).
  • 45.2% and 64.5% of participants were from quintiles 1 and 2 based on qYPR and qAHE respectively.
  • Around 46.1% of 2011/12 participants were male.
  • 64.1% of participants’ parents had had no experience of higher education.

Key Findings:

  • 1,470 participants were recorded as having participated in 57 University of Nottingham funded activities in 2011/12.
  • A total of 1,082 participants have been recorded on the Monitoring & Evaluation Database and provide the focus for this report.
  • Around 29% of participants had taken part in more than one activity. (Figure 1)
  • In 2011/12, 45.9% of participants were from the 40% most deprived areas based on IMD 2010, compared to 76.0% in 2010/11.
  • Around 52.0% of participants were from NS-SEC 4-8 which is around thirteen percentage points lower than in 2010/11 (64.9%).
  • 52.1% and 56.7% of participants were from quintiles 1 and 2 based on qYPR and qAHE respectively.
  • Around 27.7% of 2011/12 participants were male.
  • 72.8% of participants’ parents had had no experience of higher education.

Key Findings:

  • 3,448 participants were recorded as having participated in 63 University of Leicester funded activities in 2011/12.
  • A total of 1,031 participants have been recorded on the Monitoring & Evaluation Database and provide the focus for this report.
  • Around 19% of participants had taken part in more than one activity.
  • In 2011/12, 42.5% of participants were from the 40% most deprived areas based on IMD 2010, compared to 89.9% in 2010/11.
  • Around 43.5% of participants were from NS-SEC 4-8 which is around twenty-eight percentage points lower than in 2010/11 (71.9%).
  • 2% and 48.9% of participants were from quintiles 1 and 2 based on qYPR and qAHE respectively.
  • Around 43.7% of 2011/12 participants were male.
  • 9% of participants’ parents had no experience of higher education.
